And we have our first close call but I think Infante was out. Hopefully it does not come back to hurt St. Louis

There were 2 instances where instant replay overturned calls yesterday. First, Miguel Cabrera is awarded a home run after a ball landed in an odd area in left field: atmlb.com/HpnzLrNext, what was originally called a 2-run home run for Evan Longoria is ruled a double due to fan interference: atmlb.com/Hpo0W8The right call was made in both cases, IMO.

Bruce Bochy, manager of the SF Giants, is the first person to get ejected in 2012. He was run by Mike DiMuro. Hopefully MLB will post the video soon.

I agree, GREAT call by DiMuro. Are the umpires wearing a Harry Wendelstedt patch on their left sleeves?

Great call by DiMuro and interesting to hear the announcers trying to correct themselves after passing judgement the wrong call was made on a replay angle that wasn't conclusive.

It appears the umpires are wearing patches honoring both Marty Springstead and Harry Wendelstedt on their left sleeves.

Mets manager Terry Collins ejected by Larry Vanover in the top of the seventh for arguing balls and strikes. Vanover is not exactly the best b/s ump in MLB.....thats all I will say....

Mets manager Terry Collins ejected by Larry Vanover in the top of the seventh for arguing balls and strikes. I heard that Vanover had a rough day behind the plate. I saw a pitch he called Jason Bay out on that crossed the chalk like of the opposite batter's box.

I watched most of the Nationals-Mets game. I think Collins mainly thought that Stephen Strasburg got some calls from Vanover that Johan Santana and the other Mets pitchers didn't.

What I like is that many umpire are giving a very laid back ejection signal. It says, "This guy isn't worth the effort of a big ejection signal."
