That's a new one!
And how does either the HP umpire not notice it to start with?

Royals vs. Indians. Benches clear and Gary Darling gets to write up the post game report. Pitcher Gomez ejected, Acta ejected because a warning was issued, and Hannahan ejected for whipping up the situation. mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=20618487

In total Manny Acta, Jenmar Gomez and Jack Hannahan were given the heave-ho but IMO this was also started by an extreme overreaction by Shin Soo Choo as seen here. mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=20618633&c_id=mlbThis is the second time in 9 days Choo has been hit and benches have cleared. If you play in the MLB, you are going to get hit by pitches sometimes. Choo has severly overreacted both times he has been hit. If he is going to stare the pitcher down and chirp at them every time he gets hit this will be a long season for Choo. He needs to grow up a little bit, people get hit sometimes.

Dale Scott kicked this one. He threw his hands up in the air, at first to catch his balance, but then re-extended them to signal foul ball. That froze the runners. Then, he realized its fair. Too late. Dodgers get a triple play and then go on to win the game. Padres got hosed on this one. You can't just signal foul ball and then go "OOOOOOOPS, it's fair"

Scott's mechanics were, at best, sloppy on that one.

In the top of the ninth inning of last night's Orioles-White Sox game, White Sox pitching coach Don Cooper was tossed by plate ump Lance Barret for arguing balls and strikes. Cooper came out to talk to his pitcher, and apparently said something to Barret as the meeting broke up.

Saw that as it happened while at the gym. Those bats become like knifes when broken in half. Thankfully, it wasn't more serious.

Gibson gave Span plenty of chances to shut up, but he wouldn't stop so enough was enough. Gibson did a good job of handling this, IMO.

Pretty obvious that Span was mouthing off way too much, as Gibson was set for the next pitch, while Span kept on b**ching on what was a pretty nice pitch on the inside corner by Sabathia. The video and audio on the Yankee games on YES is pretty incredible, and you could see Gibson's eyes start to bulge, and finally just getting tired of it, and screaming "Just get out of here!!!, as he yanked him out. It was also pretty obvious that Gibson got Gardenhire more for bringing up a balk he had called on Liriano the previous inning. Gardenhire was doing all sort sof motioning with his feet and hands, as if to demonstrate what Liriano had done. Gibson has pretty big ones, though - a batter later, he calls a balk on SABATHIA - with the YES cams cutting to Girardi, who flashed a touch of a smile, as if to say, "No WAY I'm arguing that one!" Plus: the ex catcher John Flaherty was one of the YES announcers, and he brought up - guess who?- our old friend Balkin' Bob - even calling him that by name!
