This is McAulay's 4th primetime game this year. This is ridiculous, while Hochuli has had none and other crews have only had one. I swear someone is wearing a lot of lipstick to kiss up..... Oh and he just had SNF last week. I am sick and tired of the same crews getting all the good assignments.

while i wish the primetime assignments were more balanced, DAL/PHI is always a chippy game and Terry McAulay is the best referee in the NFL, in my opinion, at keeping the game under control

Still no prime time game for Hochuli's crew. I look for them to get one or two over the last three weeks of the season, one of which will probably be the Cowboys-Cardinals game on Christmas night. R-85 won't have to travel to far from home for that one! it'll be a good birthday gift too.

Heck the newest R had to deal with an MMA-style fight. I just dont like the same crews getting all the primetime assignments.

Possibilities
OAK @ JAX - Cheffers, Riveron, Triplette
NYG @ MIN - Cheffers, Riveron, Triplette
SEA @ SF - Cheffers, Riveron, Triplette
UPDATE 1 - Hearing Corrente has Rams/Saints.
UPDATE 2 - Hearing Steratore has Packers/Lions.
UPDATE 3 - Hearing Morelli has Buccaneers/Redskins.
UPDATE 4 - Hearing Boger has Broncos/Cardinals.
UPDATE 5 - If above 4 are true, then Anderson has Chiefs/Chargers.

Is it just me, or does it seem like the NFL is trying to push Hochuli out? He used to get a CC or SB every year, then didn't get anything in 2006, though there was some controversy on the assignments, and now he can't get a primetime assignment.
I would still prefer to have him officiating my team's games as he is still the best ref out there and when he makes the occasional flub, he makes it look like he is making fun of himself, unlike some who stumble and look like a deer in the headlights.

I don't think they're trying to push him out. It's just the natural progression of a career. Hochuli, while still an excellent referee, is (sorry Ed fans) past his prime. The same thing happened to Markbreit, Austin, McElwee, Hantak, and other officials at other positions. The reflexes start to go, the eyesight takes dip, younger officials rise up and then it's time for the official to make his toughest call - to send in the letter to New York stating his intentions to retire.

Ed Hochuli has not reached that stage yet. Jeff Triplette may be reaching that point soon though...

Agree with FF7 and TJ...R85 is still good- other young officials have passed him now as the progression of time... Yes, our Ed fans are very passionate-I can think of at least two...

Hochuli is still at the top of his game. For being the most senior referee, he is pretty damn good. How many times in the past has the most senior referee been as good as him?
I don't think anyone would be shocked if Hochuli got another SuperBowl assignment...that says a lot.
