No video of this, but yesterday new Oakland A's manager Bob Melvin was run by 3B umpire Tim Tschida. I have not seen any video of the play does anyone know why Melvin was ejected?

No video of this, but yesterday new Oakland A's manager Bob Melvin was run by 3B umpire Tim Tschida. I have not seen any video of the play does anyone know why Melvin was ejected? He was in the dugout disputing a call made by 2B Umpire Bill Welke as to whether the Royals baserunner was safe. Tim Tschida didn't like what he heard and tossed him. So Tschida was sticking up for his crewmate Welke, who seemed to get the call correct.

Don't know who's a bigger bunch of egoists anymore, the prima-donna umpires or over paid cry baby managers and players. People come to watch a ball game, and not a bunch of clowns who think that the time on the field is all about them. Who cares who's the biggest show off? Let's play ball, forget the other junk, in the old days it was never like it is now.....and it's not all just occuring in baseball either, all sports are getting a piece of the action.

I think we are slowly seeing a new era of umpire comportment in arguing. The umpires won't let managers or players get away with things, but I don't think we'll see umpires matching players and managers scream for scream and cuss for cuss. It used to be that umpires had to grab the game by the horns or players and coaches would walk all over them. Well, a simple flick of the wrist to the dugout is all that they need to win an argument. Very interesting evolution. Arguments like this one may become more and more rare: mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=5975865

The pitch to Bourn was a strike and I'm not sure what Mills was arguing about...

MLB needs to crack down on Ozzie. His antics are getting ridiculous. It might make some people laugh, but he's making a fool of himself IMO.

Ozzie will probably sit one game for kicking an opposing player's equipment.
I love how Hawk Harrelson and Steve Stone are dead on sure that it was a foul ball. At worst it was inconclusive and Hoye was RIGHT on top of it.
