Hochuli did a pretty good job of explaining the playoff overtime rules. Actually, it seemed like it took him less time to do so than Ron Winter at PIT@DEN, believe it or not. I'm sure Hochuli has practiced that explanation for two years in preparation for tonight. I think he has been so excited waiting to do that explanation as a man is to proposing to his girlfriend.

It was a classic, tough, hard-fought, difficult game, and the game was the better for Hochuli's crew being there today.
I really can't find any nits to pick.
4.0's across the board.
Gold stars and well done to Hochuli's crew.

Not sure if I'd give the crew a 4.0, but I'll give them a solid 3.8.
R-85's verbosity brings the crew down a little bit.

this game was superb. Great job by all the officials (including some Triplette buffering) ...
felt like Hittner blew his whistle very fast compared to some of the other forward progress whistles, but it was the right call, even if done super fast. Hate that my team lost on a special teams play after we were so solid this season, but I'm looking forward to next season. Fingers crossed we can draft a good wideout

Couple of minor disagreements which I posted on this thread but overall this was the best weekend As it should have been. "Supposedly" each official working this weekend (on-field) was the #2 or #3 rated official at his respective position this season, so it stands to reason why both crews had excellent days today.

Coughlin doesn't like where Ed Hochuli is spotting Craig Wrolstad on this punt out of bounds:

Two white hats watch the historic field goal. Hochuli on the field and alternate Triplette on the sidelines (in blue jacket).

Trips looks enthused. Why does he have a headset? And is the other alternate (forget who it was) on the other sid of the field

A couple observations:
1. I had no problem with Vernon Davis being flagged for celebrating on the camera stand. This "it's all about me" stuff needs to be flagged. This is different from the Lambeau Leap where fans are participating in the celebration - it's not all about the player showing off with the leap.
2. Hittner killing the play on the forward progress was the right call. Bradshaw was being forced backwards, and by rule, that makes his progress stopped. Hittner bean bagged the spot to stop a melee over the football - he's not ruling fumble.
Pretty solid day by this crew. I don't mind Hochuli's explanations over the generic "The ruling on the field stands/is overturned" statements. There's no doubt or controversy over what he saw on replay when he's finished speaking.
