Looks like a good call and good mechanics. No problems with this call and the way it was made.

Porter handled himself very well in a prior ejection earlier this season. He does very well in handling situations.

Alfonso Marquez shows Matt Diaz the door. Funny coincidence, Matt Diaz was also ejected in the ninth inning from the bench of a game his team was losing last year. That happened on June 12th, today is June 11th. Two identical incidents happened almost exactly a year apart. What are the chances. mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=22213501&c_id=mlb

Congratulations to Ted Barret for calling balls and strikes for Matt Cain's perfect game in San Francisco. The third base umpire for that game? Brian Runge.

This is the second no-hitter for which Ted Barrett has called balls and strikes and I believe both were perfect games. The other occasion was David Cone of the Yankees pitching a perfect game against the Montreal Expos in 1999 at the old Yankee Stadium. I don't think many umpires can say they saw three no-hitters in one season, two of which were perfect games.

Actually the third no-hitter and second perfect game for Barrett behind the plate. The Cone game was indeed perfect and Barrett also called Ervin Santana's no-hitter last year.

Thanks for the correction, russ. I forgot about Ervin Santana's no-hitter last year. Barrett has seen more no-hitters in the last two seasons than many umpires see in an entire career.
