Mattingly has been a real baby this year. He seems to complain about everything that doesn't go his way. That happens sometimes Don, you have got to pick and choose when and how to argue. I don't think it is to a teams benefit to always get ejected on close calls.

From what I heard this morning on San Diego radio, Fairchild had a rough night. The Padres players weren't too happy with him either. But, its definately easier to take when you're up by 6. The assessment was, he was consistently inconsistent.

How is possible that 10 guys, the 9 field players and the next guy at bat ALL lost track of the outs? What the heck happened in that half-inning that confused everyone?

Interesting....none of the other umpires came in to try to calm the situation down....hm If a veteran umpire is going one on one with a manager, other umpires try not to play rodeo clown unless the argument gets prolonged, violent, or other coaches and players start to pile up.
